The following are a collection of my thoughts and positions on a wide range of issues. I wanted to do something different with this campaign, to begin to change the way that we talk about policies, to move beyond the poll-tested buzzwords and meaningless slogans that define our politics today, so that we can begin to have real conversations about what we want our society to look like.
So instead of offering a checklist of those familiar words and phrases that every other politician uses, I decided to write my stances almost like a blog entry or a short essay. To give you all a better understanding of how I think, how I’ve come to the conclusions that I have, how I define issues, and my own personal experiences where applicable.
I have attempted to be as comprehensive as possible, although this is by no means a full accounting of every problem and subsequent solution in America. I intend for this to be a living document that I update throughout the campaign as I learn more and improve upon my ability to message and communicate. I want everyone, regardless of your level of experience in politics, to be able to understand and relate to what I’m saying. To educate when given the opportunity, to lead when necessary, and to inspire if I am fortunate enough to do so.
